Instrumented Protective Functions (IPF) Awareness Training Program

Introduction

This two day introductory course is designed for engineers, operator and maintenance technicians who are targeting a practical awareness of SIS practices to meet recent industrial standards IEC61508/61511. The course includes the qualitative evaluation of safety instrumented system (SIS) requirements (SIL determination methodology), the quantitative assessment of safety integrity level (SIL Verification), and the essential practices for full safety lifecycle requirement for SIS design. The tutorial and workshops will discuss the methodology to meet corporate reliability or safety requirements and how SIS configuration can affect those requirements.

Eligible Participants

Supervisory personnel who are responsible for determining SIS design standards.

Engineers who will be responsible for the design of SIS

Environmental and Safety Personnel who are responsible for reducing the risk associated with environmental and safety incidents

Other technical personnel who use or are responsible for maintaining safety or critical control systems
